Trevor Muller

With over 15 years in the play industry, Trevor brings his experience both as an Operational Inspector and Manager with a company dedicated to the installation, maintenance and refurbishment of playground equipment and now, as an independent, fully qualified Annual Inspector with the Register of Playground Inspectors International (RPII).


He also holds a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Playground Operation, Inspection and Maintenance qualification. This combined knowledge gives him an excellent understanding of the practical issues and safety standards which apply to play. As an RPII Inspector, Trevor has a full DBS check, Public Liability Insurance £5,000,000 and Professional Indemnity Insurance £1,000,000.

Types of equipment inspected

We can work with you to safeguard your responsibility to manage any installation or established play area to the relevant industry safety standards. All our inspections and risk assessments are undertaken by a fully qualified expert approved and registered with the RPII.

Our inspections are in accordance with the appropriate standards as set out below:

01.

Outdoor permanently installed play equipment and surfacing:
BS EN 1176 & 1177 2018.

The European Standard BSEN 1176- 2017 specifies general safety requirements for permanently installed public playground equipment and surfacing. Additional safety requirements for specific pieces of playground equipment are specified in subsequent parts of this standard.

Parkour equipment:
BS EN 16899 2017.

The British standard EN16899-2017 specifies requirements for the manufacture of Parkour equipment for use by youths and adults. The standard recognizes that Parkour forms no part of children’s play.

03.

Skate parks:
EN 14974.

The standard EN14974: 2019 applies to skateparks for public use which are intended for the use of skateboards, other roller sports equipment and BMX bikes.

04.

Outdoor exercise equipment:
BS EN 16636.

This European standard BS EN 16630: 2015 specifies general safety requirements for the manufacture, installation, inspection and maintenance of permanently installed freely accessible outdoor fitness equipment. The equipment is intended for youths and adults or users having an overall height greater than 1400mm. Equipment covered in this standard is not playground equipment (EN1176) or free access multi sports equipment (EN15312).

05.

Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGA’s) :
BS EN 15312.

The European standard EN15312:2007 is applicable to free access multi-sports equipment and combinations intended for permanent installation (not temporary) which includes, football, handball, hockey, table tennis, tennis, volleyball.
